Last day

I am currently using free internet in a hostel located near Hendon Central Station. I got lost again, but I achieved my goal which was eventually finding the hostel without having to make a phone call. Shocking, it had a huge glowing sign that I somehow missed completely. This is my last day in Europe. The plan was to stay close to the airport for a simple moring commute, but I am very far from bad map directions on hostelworld.com. Thankfully it is a cool place, somewhat clean, and friendly. Sadly it snowed when I arrived and throughout the evening so I was unable to do anything eventful. I did take a long walk without getting lost. I truly believe that my since of direction is improving! The snow did finally stop once I was inside a nice Chinese resturant, where I spend a little too much on dinner. Oh well, I splurged.

So I will depart tomorrow and return to normal life. I am glad to return home, but deeply depressed that I have to leave all of this. No worries, there is another trip coming but not too soon. Also I plan to post losts of pictures of my trip as a final entry and also on Facebook, which I will try to not become addicted to again.

Montmartre

I decided that if I was to move to Paris I would live in Montmartre. The area is lovely, simply breathe taking. Somehow I feel in love with it so I decided to spend my last days here. I still have to visit Versaille and see a couple other places, but I do feel like this trip has been memorable. I plan to return soon and even visit some other places. I do have to apologize to the french speakers for any mistakes, I am trying to practice and learn.

Also I plan to post pictures when I return, though I am afraid my camera will burst because I keep taking photos. Hopefully they all survive the trip.

Marseille

I decided to got see the Cote d'Azur. I took time out of my busy schedule to visit the train station and buy a ticket. My challenge was to find a great deal and not spend too much. Just so you know it is very difficult to not spend money in Europe, almost impossible.

I reach le a gare with high hopes. I got to the ticket counter and asked for a ticket to Nice. Sadly the price was not within my budget (which I made up on the spot) so I turned and walked away. Then I decided to not leave until I found a ticket elsewhere. So I thought maybe I will go to Germany, its close. When I discovered the prices I was not encouraged, but somehow I thought about Marseille. To make a short story less drawn out, I bought a cheap ticket to Marseille. I literally paid 100 euro for a ticket, which was cheaper then my ticket from London.

Arriving in Marseille was a treat. There were some awesome American gals to converse with and I was excited because I have not hung out with any Americans recently. I walked around and saw Marseille at night and it was gorgeous. Imagine how I felt this morning going out to see the city. This is the place you want to go because people are friendly, the sun shines bright, there are free things to do. I am content with the fact that I visited a fort, went to a church that had an amazing view, and watched the sunset on the beach. I walked so much today and every step lead me to another wonder I could only have in Marseille. Sadly, I have to leave tomorrow night, but I still get another day to basket in the glory of this beautiful city on the coast of France. I am having a wonderful time!

Paris

First, I would like to apologize for my lack of posting recently. Just because I am in a foreign country without access to internet should be no excuse to do my sworn duty as a blogger. I should be ashamed of myself. I could go on scolding myself, but I only have 30 min on this French computer and I am typing slower because of the keyboard arrangement.

I have been in Paris a week now. I have seen the Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris, Pont Neuf, Chalet Les Halles, Sacre Coeur, le Seine, and so much more. The people are beautiful, stylish, sexy... this list goes on. On the other hand, I personally feel like an unattractive slob, which may be blowing my cover. I did not think of Paris when I packed and now je regrette ca. I am also stubborn and frugal so I probably will not be buying new clothing. The weather is not very inviting for style at times I am so cold that I do not any parts of my body exposed. I may as well check "French lover" off my list. My french is very bad, it is almost embarrassing, but I can get by so no one is rude, but they do correct my pronunciation.

Paris est tres magnifique! Je adore les personnes et le view? See bad French. I recently found out there will be strike happening on Thursday. Apparently all public transportation will shut down, which concerns me and my dependency on it. Sometimes these strikes are short sometimes long. That is a reason why I want to skip town, but I have not decided where I should go. I could lay low while the french government deals with their demands. This may be a reason why there are cops everywhere. I saw protesters one day who looked angry. Cecile s a woman I am staying with and her mother told me the French are never satisfied. C'est le vie!

à beintot,
Nia

Enjoying the countryside

I am very proud that this photo is that first one I am showing. I must say that I do love London but the industrialization and hoards of people have made me crave the countryside. It was my most miserable day, healthwise, and I decided that nothing was going to stop me from seeing Stonehenge. I went to bus station, that wasn't going to work. The train was the best choice. Not only did it get me there quickly, but I also had a wonderful rest. The picture does not even show how horible I felt, I succeeded. Also it is the only one I have because I forgot my camera and I nice man took one of me and emailed it almost instantly. So here is the proof, it speaks for itself. If you cannot hear it speaking, basically it says, I am crazy, England is lovely, and I cannot get enough.

Cheers darling!

Experiencing London

Firstly I have to apologize for not having pictures. I have not attempted to transfer them onto the computer.

So bet you are wondering what I have been doing in London since I have been here four days and barely wrote anything. The first two full days I wondered the streets viewing incredible sights like the London bridge, Tower bridge, Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Parliament... Ok this list will go on and on. I surprisingly went into only one museum which had famous works of Monet, Van Gogh, Seurat and many more.

Yesterday I took a trip outside London because I wanted to see the country side. I went to Salisbury, which is a quaint town, but sadly modernized. I took a tour bus to see Stonehenge and it was spectacular. I must say it looked like the pictures but it still had the essence of mystique upon entering the premises. Even though I was feeling under the weather, I was determined to enjoy every moment. Basically I sat and walked while marveling at this monument. I could not believe I was there. The funny thing about it is that there are two roads on either side that people use frequently meaning people pass by this ancient artifact daily. I cannot even grasp that reality.

Today I spent a lot and probably will be indoors all day, but I hope and pray that I will get better so that this trip can continue with ease.
